Photographic transfer and oil on wooden skirting board
The skirting board, an often overlooked architectural element, marks the boundary between wall and floor. In this series of small-scale paintings, it becomes a support for depictions of domestic interiors.
The works combine photographic transfers with oil painting. The irregular marks and stains produced during the transfer process become points of departure for the painted interiors, allowing images to develop through an interplay between photographic traces and painterly interventions.
The series extends an ongoing investigation into domestic spaces and the ways they are represented and inhabited.
